美国有家名为“潘娜拉”的慈善面包店，上门的顾客可以自己决定要付多少钱。虽然“潘娜拉”一度扩展到5间门店，但最终仍不敌营收压力，门店陆续关闭，最后一家分店也将在15日关闭。创办人沙奇曾说，慈善门店是一种人性考验。

据台湾“东森新闻云”援引外媒报道，“潘娜拉”面包店于2010年推出，上门的顾客在消费时，可以自己决定要支付多少钱。

在这样的制度下，有能力的人可以多付一点，生活困难的人，可以选择少掏一点钱，或者以志愿者服务的方式换取食物。

不过，现实很骨感。2013年时，运营公司曾透露，“潘娜拉”的营收与一般面包店相比，仅有后者的七八成。

在长期的经营压力之下，原先有5家门店的“潘娜拉”陆续关门，就连最后一间位于波士顿的门店也将在15日关门。

“潘娜拉”2017被总部设在卢森堡的投资公司JAB控股公司收购。对于“潘娜拉”的关门，公司声明称，“很显然，它已经难以维持运营”。对于因关门失业的员工，发言人表示，公司将协助他们转至其他关系企业任职。                                                              ?
